Made it through the first week...

and with not too much bloodshed either!

Actually, this has been a pretty good week. I have to say that I thoroughly have enjoyed being home with Julie and "the kids" (our cats AJ and Freeway).

I am working on getting some cruise pics up. Perhaps this weekend when things are a little quieter around here (although we do have a bunch of folks coming over for a Monday bbq)

Enough for now.

Maybe this pool thing will work...

I have gone up and down about my pool service business over the last 3-4 months. I wasn't sure if it could be something that could sustain one person (which wasn't me), never mind two.

But after sitting down this morning with Robert to see all of the billing that we have going on, I may become a believer.

I really believed in the business last year. But with som many things not being handled the way I wanted them to, I became somewhat frustrated. I always felt like that old story about the hen; "Who will help me plow the field, plant the seed, etc?" (You are probably getting the message) This year, the only marketing I did was the yellow pages.

As luck would have it, we have received some business from that, but more so from doing a great job of over-servicing the folks last year. Word has got around and it is beginning to pay some benefits.

I am visiting tomorrow with the person we buy our supplies off of. I am back in the mode of buying this pool supply house and expanding the business.

I will let you know how it goes.

I have received some calls out of the blue inquiring if I wanted to do some work "on the side" so to speak. I have tried to repel them all. I am focusing on what is currently on my plate, so while it might have been short money coming quick, I decided it just wasn't worth the trouble of dealing with it.

Meanwhile, I have to say that I have enjoyed my time at home so far.

So this is how the other half lives...

People sure are gracious in their goodbyes. Catching up on email and other activities after not touching a computer for a week. I was surprised by who responded to my farewell email and by what they said. That was nice, but it is time to move on.

It is a little hard to believe that when we were on the cruise, I didn't have a desire to check email (the ship had about 20 computers where you could get online with @ $.75 a minute) nor did I gamble (or even had an urge to). I was pretty much relaxed the whole trip.

Yesterday was spend on the phone with Robert, who does most of the pool work (he does the work, I do the billing and banking). Other than that, it is a little bit of an adjustment of being home and not being pulled in a million directions.

I have pictures of the cruise coming as well as AJ and Freeway (our two cats) who left the house in wonderful shape until we arrived home on Sunday :)

Still trying to catch up otherwise.

My head is still rolling...

Well, I just got back from a 7 day Southern Caribbean cruise. This is my second cruise and I have to admit, I still have my "sea" legs, as my head continually seems to roll around abit. Believe me, it isn't that fun once you have landed.

I had another blog, but decided that when I quit my job here two weeks ago, that blog had run its' course. That blog dealt mostly with work. That work is done and as such, so is that blog. There might be a few parting shots, but not many.

Well, let's see...what will this blog be about? Well, me naturally. But also about the people who make up my life and the interactions of them. It will probably contain a few thoughts that I only speak to myself (you have to let it out somewhere you know!).

What won't this blog be about? Work. Along the way, it may have an occasional post of my outside busineses, because those are the folks I run across.

Just wanted to get something down to get this blog started. More to come.
